1878 8 Tail Feathers (8TF) Morgan Dollar graded MS 64 by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The NGC certification number for this coin is 237513-005.
The 1878 8 Tail Feathers Morgan Dollar is a one-dollar coin minted in the United States. The Morgan Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was produced from 1878 to 1904 and then again in 1921. The obverse features a portrait of Lady Liberty, while the reverse displays an eagle with outstretched wings holding arrows and an olive branch. The 8 Tail Feathers variety is the first issue of the Morgan Dollar and was later replaced by the 7 Tail Feathers variety after a design change.
An MS 64 grade assigned by NGC indicates that the coin is in Mint State (uncirculated) condition, with moderate contact marks or hairlines, and possibly a few heavier marks. The overall eye appeal may be above average for the grade, but the coin may have some imperfections that prevent it from achieving a higher grade.
In summary, the 1878 8 Tail Feathers Morgan Dollar with NGC certification number 237513-005 is an uncirculated one-dollar coin with moderate contact marks or hairlines and above-average eye appeal.
