Up for auction is a vintage 1968 McCormick Extra Dry Gin Stoneware Jug, a classic piece of mid-century American advertising barware. Crafted from thick, heavy glazed stoneware, this traditional jug measures 5 x 7.5 inches  ( 4/5 quart capacity) and features a comfortable applied handle alongside its original cap/stopper with a wax-sealed top. Crisp blue stenciled lettering decorates the front, proudly advertising "McCormick Extra Dry Gin – 101 Proof – Bottled by McCormick Distilling Company, Weston, Missouri," with an additional "101 PROOF" stamped bold across the shoulder.

The base offers clear, authenticating ink markings stamped directly into the pottery, reading 168-68 / LIQUOR BOTTLE / 11-D-16. The "68" date code securely places its manufacture in 1968, while "11-D-16" denotes McCormick’s official federal distillery permit code. Originating from Weston, Missouri—home to one of the oldest operating distillery sites west of the Mississippi River—this jug represents a fantastic era of promotional stoneware packaging produced for retail distribution.

Condition: This jug displays wonderfully in overall very good vintage condition. The glaze remains smooth and shiny with minor surface wear, subtle glaze imperfections, and light aging around the handle and cap appropriate for a piece of this era.
