This impressive estate lot features a diverse collection of vintage toy vehicles spanning the mid-20th century, making it an instant collection or a fantastic addition for seasoned toy hobbyists. The assortment showcases a mix of cast iron, pressed steel, die-cast metal, and early hard plastic models from prominent American and European manufacturers. Highlighting the collection are several highly collectible namebrands, including an authentic German-made Schuco Examico 4001mechanical car, an early Arcade cast iron sedan, a Structo pressed steel pickup truck, and a Manoil die-cast convertible.
Among the standout individual pieces is the iconic black Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, which comes preserved inside its rare, original striped graphic box. Collectors will also appreciate the heavy-gauge, red Arcade cast iron coupe showing its classic debossed maker's mark underneath, alongside a heavily patinated, wind-up Schuco Examico 4001 convertible featuring complex mechanical steering linkages. The grouping is rounded out by a brilliant blue Structo pickup, a sleek red Mercedes-Benz 300SL gullwing coupe with opening doors, a green 1934 Chicago World's Fair "Century of Progress" souvenir sedan, and various mid-century plastic hot rods and racers. As a unique ephemera bonus, the lot includes a vintage Kentucky State Police "Manual for Drivers" booklet and a classic metal AAA National Award emblem.
The condition of this lot varies beautifully from piece to piece, offering everything from well-loved, heavily patinated restoration candidates to excellent, shelf-ready display items. The Schuco roadster displays significant surface rust and weathering but retains its clear undercarriage stampings, while the blue Manoill convertible and Structo truck show typical paint chipping and play wear consistent with their age. Conversely, the boxed Karmann Ghia remains remarkably clean with glossy black paint, and several of the hard plastic models retain their vibrant molded coloration.
Please review all the provided gallery photographs carefully to assess the specific paint wear, patina, and structural completeness of each individual vehicle. The items are being sold together as a single lot, exactly as pictured with the accompanying measuring tape provided for scale. Do not miss this opportunity to bid on a wonderfully nostalgic, instant collection of vintage automotive toy history!
