This tarnished silver-plate trinket box is an octagonal charmer with ribbed sides, a beaded and diamond-patterned border along the lid, and a gold-washed interior that still catches the light like it has secrets to keep. The hinged lid opens smoothly, and the base shows two small maker's punch marks hinting at possible Continental European origins. Some tarnishing and patina throughout, but nothing that takes away from its considerable character. A lovely little keeper for rings, cufflinks, or whatever you need to hide from houseguests.
This substantial round onyx ashtray is carved from genuine banded green-gold onyx with dramatic rust and amber veining running through its polished surface. It features two cigarette rests carved directly into the stone and sits on four green felt-tipped metal feet. One notable crack runs through the base and has been stabilized, which does affect value but not display appeal. A classic mid-century desk piece with the kind of heft that lets you know it means business.
