Description
This grouping consists of a three-piece Pyrex Homestead nesting mixing bowl set. The bowls feature the Homestead pattern, characterized by a dark blue floral scroll design applied to a beige or tan speckled background often described as “oatmeal.” The bowls nest together by size and are representative of late 1970s American kitchenware design.
The set was produced by Pyrex between 1976 and 1980 and includes three standard bowl sizes: the small #401 bowl with a 750 mL (1.5 pint) capacity, the medium #402 bowl with a 1.5 liter (1.5 quart) capacity, and the large #403 bowl with a 2.5 liter (2.5 quart) capacity. The bowls are made of milk glass and were designed for general kitchen use, including oven and microwave applications, though not for stovetop or broiler use. The Homestead pattern was one of several earth-toned designs introduced by Pyrex during this period. The bowls show general condition consistent with age and normal household use. The finish and blue pattern should be examined for signs of fading, dullness, or interior utensil marks, which are common on examples of this type. No cracks or structural damage are assumed without inspection. The set presents cohesively and nests properly, with condition details best confirmed through direct viewing.
