This pair of wildlife watercolors by Kentucky artist Karl Baker features finely detailed depictions of two beloved waterfowl species: Mallards and Blue-Winged Teal. Both pieces are signed Karl Baker ’83 and showcase his signature style—soft, realistic feathering, accurate coloration, and calm, reflective water that brings a naturalistic warmth to each scene. Baker, based in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, was well-known for his nature-focused watercolors and produced both original works and limited prints throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Each artwork is framed in a rustic, barn-wood–style frame that complements the wildlife subject matter. The double matting in warm neutral tones highlights the artwork while keeping the presentation clean and timeless. Both pieces measure approximately 20 inches wide x 16 inches tall overall, making them ideal for display in a cabin, office, nature-themed room, or Kentucky-focused collection.
These matching framed works are sold together as a set, retaining their original Karl Baker business card provenance from Wildlife in Watercolors. They remain in excellent condition with no noted discoloration or tears, and the frames show only light surface wear consistent with age.
