This collection includes two Wagner Manufacturing Company cast iron “Krusty Korn Kob” corn stick baking pans in the desirable Junior size. Produced in Sidney, Ohio, these pans are marked “Wagner Ware Sidney -O-,” “Junior,” and “Pat’d July 6, 1920,” with catalog number 1319 visible on the reverse. Each pan features seven corn-shaped molds with detailed textured kernels, a design that made Wagner’s corn stick pans among the company’s most recognizable and enduring kitchenware pieces during the early to mid-20th century. Based on the markings and logo style, these examples likely date from the 1920s through the 1940s.
The heavy cast iron construction was designed for even heat retention and crisp cornbread baking, while the realistic corn cob form reflects the novelty cookware trends popular in American kitchens of the era. Each pan measures approximately 13 inches long by 5⅞ to 6 inches wide and approximately ¾ to 1 inch deep. Individual corn stick molds measure approximately 5½ inches long by 1½ inches wide. Each pan weighs approximately 3 lbs. 4 oz. to 3 lbs. 8 oz. These pieces retain their original darkened cooking surfaces and display the expected wear and patina associated with age and use.
