Description

These two matching urn-style table lamps are the kind of thing your grandmother would have guarded with her life, and honestly, she had good taste. Each lamp features a lavender marbled porcelain body with heavy gold gilt handles, gold eagle or bird head accents at the shoulders, and a crisp white pedestal base trimmed in gold. The front of each urn bears a hand-transfer romantic pastoral medallion scene depicting an 18th-century courting couple in period dress seated in a garden landscape, all framed in gold cartouche borders straight out of a Fragonard painting. The brass hardware tops are fitted with hurricane glass chimneys and period-appropriate shade rings, and each lamp retains its original brown cloth-wrapped electrical cord, suggesting these beauties were electrified mid-century from what was likely an oil lamp conversion. All four glass chimney shades are included and appear intact, making this a remarkably complete set ready for display or rewiring by a qualified electrician.
