Standing just under 5 inches tall, this gorgeous ruby red pressed glass Santa Claus is the kind of vintage Christmas collectible that stops shoppers dead in their tracks. The figural Santa features exceptional molded detail throughout -- from his fluffy beard and jolly belly to his fur-trimmed coat and stocking feet -- all rendered in that deep, glowing crimson glass that looks absolutely magical with a candle flickering inside. The piece separates at the midsection into two pieces: a lidded top half (Santa from the waist up, with a candle opening at the hat) and a round footed base that functions beautifully as a standalone candy dish or votive holder. The bottom of the lid bears a small embossed maker's mark, consistent with Wheaton Glass or similar mid-century American pressed glass manufacturers, and the piece measures approximately 4.75 inches tall when assembled and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted.
