Description
This handsome chest of drawers is stamped right on the back panel: ELTHAN-9-2050-CHEST, J-86-CHERRY, manufactured by Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc., one of America's most trusted mid-century furniture names. Standing approximately 46 inches tall and measuring roughly 19 inches deep by 34 inches wide, this tall chest features six full drawers in a classic two-over-four configuration with beautifully grained solid cherry wood fronts and a scalloped bracket base that whispers old Virginia craftsmanship. The antique brass bail-and-plate drawer pulls are in the Chippendale style, adding a stately colonial flair that never goes out of fashion, and the dovetailed oak secondary wood drawer construction speaks to genuine quality built to last generations. Condition is excellent with minimal wear for its approximate 1986 manufacture date, drawers slide smoothly, and the rich cherry finish has developed a gorgeous warm patina.
