This collection features two original mid-20th-century coin-operated vending machines that reflect the durability and visual appeal of classic American bulk vending. Together, they present a compelling snapshot of postwar vending design, combining contrasting sizes, vend prices, and manufacturers while maintaining a cohesive industrial aesthetic with metal construction and bold red accents.
The larger machine is a Victor Model 77 produced by the Victor Vending Corporation of Chicago, Illinois. Known for its all-metal body and long-term commercial use, the Model 77 was widely used from the mid-1950s into the 1960s. This example is set for a 25-cent vend, as indicated by the signage inside the display window, and features a Victor-branded coin mechanism plate with an eagle-motif return flap. The machine measures approximately 10 x 11 x 18 inches, consistent with standard Victor 77 dimensions, and retains its original glass display showcasing mixed capsule and novelty contents.
The smaller companion piece is a Toy n’ Joy vending machine manufactured by L. M. Becker & Co. of Appleton, Wisconsin. Dating to the 1950s, this compact machine is configured for a 5-cent vend, clearly marked inside the display window. Measuring approximately 6.5 x 7 x 14 inches, it represents a common countertop or low-profile floor model used for gumballs, candy, or small prizes. Please note that keys are not present for either machine, and both are offered as-is, making this a strong display or restoration opportunity for collectors of vintage vending, arcade, or Americana décor.
