This lot consists of the vintage publication Uniforms of the United States Navy, 1776–1898, issued in 1966 by the Naval History Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. The publication documents the evolution of official U.S. Navy uniforms from the American Revolution through the late 19th century, outlining changes in regulation, design, and rank distinctions. The set includes the original printed text booklet and the full set of color illustrated plates housed inside the original folder. The plates measure approximately 16 x 20 inches each and feature detailed uniform illustrations created by military artist Charles McBarron. The folder format was designed to store both the written material and the large-format plates together as a reference set.Condition reflects age and handling, with typical wear to the folder and paper contents. All components remain intact and stored together. This item is well suited for collectors of U.S. naval history, military uniform references, or illustrated historical publications.
