This is a genuine La-Z-Boy Style No. 1602 'Florence' recliner, manufactured by the La-Z-Boy Chair Co. of Monroe, Michigan, making this a bona fide piece of American furniture history. The chair is upholstered in a warm cream colored nubby tweed fabric and features a tufted high back, rounded barrel arms, and a classic wood base rocker frame with the original pull handle reclining mechanism -- and yes, the footrest still pops up like it means business. Honest condition notes abound: the backrest and seat cushion show visible soiling and body impressions from years of devoted use, both armrests display significant wear and matting on the caps, and one armrest has a notable tear with exposed fiber -- this chair has lived, loved, and reclined hard. The reclining mechanism functions, the frame appears structurally sound, and for the right buyer this is either a charming restore-and-reupholster project or the most honest conversation piece in any living room.
