Sazerac Rye Straight Rye Whiskey, 100 Proof, 750mL, produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. Since 1850, this bold rye has been the backbone of America's first cocktail, the legendary Sazerac. The back label includes the official Sazerac cocktail recipe, calling for Peychaud's Bitters and Herbsaint, both conveniently included in this very basket. At 50% ABV, this is not a whiskey for the faint of heart.

Legendre Herbsaint Original, 750mL, 100 Proof, produced for Sazerac Company, Inc., New Orleans, LA. Based on J. Marion Legendre's original 1934 absinthe recipe, this anise-forward, herb-infused liqueur is as distinctly New Orleans as a second line parade. The back label features both the Official Sazerac Cocktail recipe and the Authentic Herbsaint Frappe recipe, making it a functional piece of cocktail history.

Peychaud's Aromatic Cocktail Bitters, 10 fl. oz. (296mL), 35% ABV, produced from the original formula for L.E. Jung and Wolff Co., New Orleans, LA. Created by apothecary Antoine Amedie Peychaud in the early 1800s, these ruby-red bitters were originally served as a health tonic alongside cognac brandy. They went on to become the quintessential New Orleans cocktail ingredient and a non-negotiable component of the Sazerac.
