    Up for auction is a 5-piece lot of vintage conventional baitcasting reels crafted in Svängsta, Sweden, by renowned manufacturer Abu Garcia (ABU). Spanning the late 1970s through the mid-1980s, this collection showcases the brand's progression of classic round and low-profile engineering. All five reels feature right-hand retrieve configurations, synchronized level-wind assemblies, solid metal components, and original Swedish factory badging with stamped reel feet for collector identification.

    The lot includes two low-profile designs: an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Ultra Mag XL Plus and an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Ultra Mag XL I (both produced circa 1983–1985). Engineered with lightweight black frames, gold-anodized trim rings, and Fast Cast thumb-bar spool releases, these models utilize a 1-to-10 scale magnetic dial brake adjuster for backlash control. Their compact, low-profile bodies measure approximately 3.5 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep, offering an ergonomic footprint for freshwater casting.

    Complementing the low-profile models are three classic round-frame reels. This group features a vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 (circa late 1970s/early 1980s), a classic silver Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5500C stamped 840100(manufactured January 1984), and a silver Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Ultra Mag I round reel stamped 830800(manufactured August 1983). These round models showcase iconic features including "High Speed" gearing, dual ball bearings on the 'C' model, and palming sideplates with the Swedish Royal Coat of Arms badge.

    Across the three round reels, the physical dimensions fall into Abu's standard 5000 and 5500 frame sizes. Each round reel frame measures approximately 2.25 inches in width across the spool pillars, with an overall width of about 3.75 to 4 inches including sideplates, tension knobs, and handle assemblies. Together, these 5 reels represent a comprehensive cross-section of 1980s Swedish reel manufacturing history.

    6. BUYER’S PREMIUM & TAX: A 12% Buyer’s Premium and applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases.

    8. EXTENDED BIDDING: Bids placed near closing automatically extend the lot by 3 minutes until bidding stops.
