The star of this lot is a stunning quadruple silver-plate covered sugar bowl bearing the mark QUADRUPLE / WB&A / NEW YORK / 57, featuring ornate pierced scroll handles, an engraved palm frond motif, a decorative beaded rim, and a domed lid crowned with a perched bird finial. The interior base retains crisp maker's mark stampings, and the lid disassembles into components including a threaded bird finial mount and weighted base insert, suggesting fine original craftsmanship. Heavy tarnish and patina throughout give it a moody, atmospheric presence that no amount of polish could manufacture.
The second piece is a petite silver-plate candlestick with a classic trumpet-form bobeche and tiered stepped base, showing rich dark tarnish consistent with age. Simple and elegant, it pairs beautifully with the sugar bowl and speaks to late 19th or early 20th century American silver-plate production.
The third piece is a two-handled pewter sugar or open creamer with bamboo-form handles and embossed floral decoration on the body, marked on the base with what appears to be a New Haven / Meriden-area maker's circular mark featuring an anchor motif. The interior shows significant oxidation and the piece carries a satisfyingly solid heft typical of quality American pewter from the Victorian era.
