1880-S (San Francisco Mint) Morgan Dollar graded MS 64 DPL by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The NGC certification number for this coin is 189907-007.
The 1880-S Morgan Dollar is a one-dollar coin minted in the United States. The Morgan Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was produced from 1878 to 1904 and then again in 1921. The obverse features a portrait of Lady Liberty, while the reverse displays an eagle with outstretched wings holding arrows and an olive branch.
An MS 64 grade assigned by NGC indicates that the coin is in Mint State (uncirculated) condition, with moderate contact marks or hairlines, and possibly a few heavier marks. The overall eye appeal may be above average for the grade, but the coin may have some imperfections that prevent it from achieving a higher grade.
The "DPL" designation stands for "Deep Prooflike," which is a term used to describe coins that exhibit mirror-like fields similar to those found on proof coins, due to the polished dies used during striking. Deep Prooflike coins are more desirable to collectors because of their unique appearance and rarity.
In summary, the 1880-S Morgan Dollar with NGC certification number 189907-007 is an uncirculated one-dollar coin with moderate contact marks or hairlines, above-average eye appeal, and deep prooflike fields.
