The Wollensak 3M Model 5740 is a stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder that folds neatly into its own woven-grille speaker cabinet case, making it one of the most self-contained and stylish analog audio systems ever produced. The unit features left and right volume controls, tone knobs, a tuner switch, fast rewind and fast forward lever, Record L, Stop, Start, and Record R transport buttons, an index counter with reset, and speed selector switch, all finished in classic cream and charcoal. The back panel reveals Radio/Phono inputs, Pre-Amp outputs, and External Speaker jacks for both left and right channels, along with a push-to-reset button, a red indicator light, and the original two-prong AC power connector rated at 105-120V, 60 cycles, 100 watts. Serial number 57403J15 is clearly visible on the rear label, and the unit comes loaded with two reels including a Scotch brand clear-hub reel on the take-up side, all housed inside its handsome original carrying cabinet with woven grasscloth-style speaker grilles and a sturdy top handle.

6. BUYER’S PREMIUM & TAX: A 12% Buyer’s Premium and applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases.

8. EXTENDED BIDDING: Bids placed near closing automatically extend the lot by 3 minutes until bidding stops.
