Straight out of the catalog era, this stunning Art Deco china display cabinet was sold through Montgomery Ward and Co. out of Louisville, Kentucky, bearing its original factory label on the back marked Case No. 9300 and Factory No. 56150. The upper case features two glass-paned doors with reeded pilaster trim opening to reveal two adjustable interior shelves sitting above a generous bottom cabinet floor, all in warm amber-toned secondary wood. Below the upper case sits a boldly reeded apron section housing one full-width drawer with original Art Deco bar-pull hardware in aged brass tone, riding on four elegantly tapered square legs with spade feet. The primary wood is a rich dark mahogany with a beautiful lacquered finish showing only honest age-appropriate wear including minor scratches and finish crazing on the reeded mid-section, while the top surface remains remarkably smooth and lustrous.
