The underside shows a traditional black cambric dust cover and protective glides, and the leather top shows light surface wear consistent with a well-loved life -- still plenty of life left in those gorgeous legs. Next is the middle child: a low-profile footstool freshly re-upholstered in a crisp grey-and-white Greek key patterned fabric, riding on four darkened cabriole legs with pad feet showing honest age and paint loss -- a sure sign this one has been around the block a time or two. The underside reveals a clean black dust barrier and recent upholstery stapling, making this a ready-to-use piece with genuine antique bones under that modern makeover. Rounding out the lot is the showstopper: a small but mighty footstool with an elaborately hand-carved mahogany base featuring acanthus leaf and scroll detailing, heavily carved toupie feet, and a domed black leather top secured with brass nailhead trim. The underside carries a furniture compliance label from a North Carolina manufacturer, suggesting mid-to-late 20th century American production, and the top shows some surface scratching and a small area of leather lifting -- easily addressed and totally worth it for that carved base alone.
