Description

This stunning Grandmother's Fan pattern quilt is a true labor of love, bursting with dozens of vibrant fabric scraps in every color of the rainbow including red, yellow, pink, purple, teal, gold, and black set against a crisp white background. The hand quilting is meticulous and dense, featuring flowing curved stitching throughout the white sashing and border areas that speaks to serious skill and countless hours of patient handwork. The quilt shows honest vintage wear consistent with age and use, including some light yellowing and staining on the white border areas, a small area of binding wear or separation at one edge, and the gloriously crinkled texture that only comes from decades of washing and loving use. The fabrics themselves are a time capsule of mid-century cotton prints including tiny florals, calicoes, solids, and novelty prints that make this a collector's dream as much as a decorator's statement piece.
