• Current Owners purchased this automobile June 2003 from an authorized Mercedes
Benz Dealer, Tafel Motors in Louisville, KY, (Dealership subsequently acquired by
Mercedes Benz of Louisville).
• All recommended/required maintenance has been performed over the term of
ownership, (documentation available).
• No significant accident or damage to the vehicle during term of ownership. One minor
accident that did not involve another vehicle, (Brushed right outer undercarriage
against parking chuck in a public garage several years ago. Repairs made by Senn’s
Body Shop, Middletown, KY/Documentation available).
• Purchased as a MB Starmark Used Vehicle, (Requirements: no significant accident,
hail or water damage, no salvaged vehicles and all suggested maintenance must be
completed/documented. Vehicle must be inspected and signed off on by a MB North
America authorized Mechanic to qualify. Documentation available.)
• Original CarFax Document dated 30Apr2003 states there are no issues with this
vehicle, (document available).
• Experian Autocheck Document dated 27Mar2004 states there are no issues with this
vehicle, (document available).
• CarFax Document dated 26Jun2024, in error, states that this vehicle was claimed a
total loss and sold at a salvage auction on 13Apr2003. (Vehicle owned by Tafel Motors
at this time.) Several attempts by the current owners, Mercedes Benz of Louisville and
MB USA to have CarFax correct this error have not resulted in action. CarFax refuses to
provide any information or documentation to corroborate this claim and has no
satisfactory answer as to why this claim did not appear on prior CarFax documents for
this vehicle. Owner’s current insurance company nor the Kentucky Department of
Motor Vehicles can locate any information or documentation that corroborates the
CarFax claim of Salvage of this vehicle and do not recognize the CarFax claim as
factual.
• KY Dept of Motor Vehicles will not issue a license for a vehicle that has been sold as
salvage, (the term they use is a “branded title”). New KY tags were issued for this
vehicle Oct2024 as there is no branded title for this vehicle. New KY tags were issued
for this vehicle each year the current owners possessed this vehicle.
• Auto Insurance Companies will not insure vehicles for commuter use if the vehicle has
a branded title due to being salvaged. Each year this vehicle has been possessed by
the current owners, an Auto Insurance Policy was issued by a reputable USA based
insurance company with no issues.
• Vehicle History Document dated 11Mar2025 from SearchQuarry, (a reputable vehicle
database and information search company used by US based insurance companies),
states that there are no title brands, major accidents, etc. registered or documented
for this vehicle. (Document available

*You can schedule a test drive prior to bidding by emailing us at contact@legacylouisville.com. We will be able to accommodate test drives prior to the last 24 hours of the auction. Test drives will be conducted in the 40245 area code. You will need to provide proof of personal insurance and a drivers license. You can also bring a mechanic if you wish to have it looked at prior to bidding.
Terms and Conditions
1. All items are sold where is, as is.
2. Once payment is completed for item(s) won, the ability to schedule a pick-up time will become available. Scheduling a pick-up time is required.
3. There will be a $20 fee assessed per item not picked up at that time that will be collected prior to bidding again at our auctions. Unlike retail, we do not have the option to store your item. If the item is larger than a standard suitcase (22" x 14" x 10"), we will charge $50 to the card on file per item to move the item.
4. Please plan accordingly as items not picked up are considered "abandoned". Do not bid if you cant pick up this day.
5. You are responsible for ensuring you collect all items at pickup.
6. Legacy uses "Popcorn" or "Extended" bidding. This means if a bid comes in at the last second, it is extended 3 minutes. This is like a live auctioneer saying, "going once" to ensure all bids are exhausted prior to closing.
7. We charge a 12% flat buyers premium on all items.
8. We charge KY State Tax with the exception of vehicles which is collected at the DMV.
9. You must bring help to pickup any items. We can recommend movers upon request. Also, please bring tools for items that require disassembly.
