Description
This lot includes two adjustable door and jamb hinge templates used for accurately routing hinge mortises during door installation. One template is marked Stanley model 83002 Door and Jamb Butt Template, manufactured by Stanley Power Tools in New Bern, North Carolina. The other is marked Bosch model 83037 Door and Jamb Hinge Template, made in the USA. Both tools are designed to guide a router when cutting hinge recesses in doors and door jambs, ensuring consistent spacing and alignment.
Each template features adjustable metal guides with built-in scales and reference markings that allow the user to position hinges according to common door configurations. The sliding components and adjustable stops accommodate various door thicknesses and hinge placements. These templates are typically used by carpenters, contractors, and installers when fitting interior or exterior doors, allowing for repeatable hinge placement without manual layout.
Both templates are constructed from metal with adjustable components, router guide openings, and labeled measurement indicators. They show typical shop wear from use, including surface marks and light oxidation, but retain clear manufacturer markings and functional adjustment mechanisms. Tools of this type are intended for use with a handheld router and hinge guide bushings to produce precise hinge mortises in both doors and frames.
