This absolutely stunning vintage Indian decorative rocking horse is carved from dark hardwood and lavishly adorned with brass fittings, engraved brass medallions, a delicate brass chain bridle, and a magnificent saddle inlaid with vibrant semi-precious stones including turquoise, orange onyx, green malachite, and blue sodalite. Standing approximately 10 inches tall and roughly 10 inches long, this noble steed rocks on a curved wooden base and radiates the unmistakable craftsmanship of Rajasthani artisans who have perfected this tradition for centuries. The piece shows beautiful age-appropriate patina on the brass and wood, which only adds to its rich, exotic character and collector appeal. Included in this lot are two white ceramic plates featuring a raised hobnail dot border design in a warm grey-white glaze, stacked together for display.
