This unique release takes the already well-loved Double Oaked process a step further: after initial aging in a charred oak barrel and finishing in a second heavily toasted barrel, the bourbon is the takes an extended slumber in a second toasted barrel — hence “Double Double.” The deeply toasted and lightly charred second barrel unlocks an unparalleled depth of flavor – a richness and complexity rarely encountered in American whiskey. The result is a robust, decadent pour bursting with notes of dark chocolate, maple syrup, toasted oak, vanilla bean, and baking spice, balanced by a silky-smooth mouthfeel.
It is Woodford's most indulgent double-barreled expression.
This expression was available only at the Woodford Reserve Distillery and sold out quickly upon release. It’s a must-have for collectors, connoisseurs, and anyone who appreciates the art of precision barrel finishing.
