Description

This vintage Depression-era glass serving bowl is made from authentic green vaseline/uranium glass. Under standard light, the bowl exhibits a soft transparent light-green tint, while under blacklight/ultraviolet light, it demonstrates a brilliant, vivid neon-green fluorescence due to the uranium oxide used in the glass formulation. Press-molded glass serving pieces of this style were widely produced during the American Depression era, spanning the late 1920s through the 1930s.

The bowl features a ribbed exterior body with vertical fluting along the sides and a broad, scalloped-edge rim profile. The interior bottom base is molded with a starburst fan/ray pattern that radiates outward from the center. The wide opening and flared rim make it ideal as a fruit bowl, salad serving dish, or centerpiece display bowl.

This listing includes a total item count of one uranium glass bowl. Based on the provided measuring tape photographs, the bowl measures approximately 9.5 inches in overall rim diameter and stands approximately 2.75 inches in height.
