Rendered with the downcast, serene, and slightly melancholic gaze characteristic of the era, she features softly waved hair swept into an elaborate top knot. A contrasting, darker-veined laurel wreath rests upon her brow, symbolizing victory, poetry, and classical antiquity.

Masterfully sculpted from authentic alabaster, the piece showcases the material’s highly prized translucent, milky quality and fine, soft veining. The bust measures approximately 14" Wide x 8" Deep x 12 ½" High. In keeping with its antique age, the sculpture displays a natural, rich patina and expected surface wear, particularly to the delicate laurel wreath. Please note that the bottom edges of the bust are rough and uneven, strongly indicating that the piece originally sat on a separate, raised pedestal or column base (an oval alabaster base plate is included, as shown in the photos).
