Description

First up is the showstopper of the pair: a large resin reproduction of a Parthenon frieze panel depicting a muscular horseman astride a rearing horse, rendered in warm sandy tones and mounted on a sleek black display base. The label on the base reads 'Greek Parthenon/Base' with code CC0026, and a Lazarus department store sample tag lists it at $100. Measuring approximately 19 inches tall to the top of the relief and with a base measuring roughly 12 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall.

The second piece is a tall, slender stele-style relief reproduction depicting an archaic Greek warrior standing at attention, holding a spear, dressed in a short tunic and helmet with a round shield at his side. The figure features the distinctive flat, stylized carving style of early 500 BC Greek funerary stelae, complete with an engraved Greek inscription along the base reading 'ERAONARIS TOKTEOS.' A Pier 1 Imports label on the back confirms it was made in Greece and identifies it as 'Warrior 500 B.C.'. Standing approximately 26 inches tall at the relief's highest point atop a black wooden base measuring about 6 inches wide, it is white in color and in very good vintage condition.
