Completing the suite, this vintage mid-century nightstand was produced by the historic Mengel Furniture Company of Louisville, Kentucky. Designed to complement the matching chest and dresser, it blends mid-century modern utility with subtle Art Deco architectural details. The piece features a single top drawer framed by horizontal fluted detailing and finished with the signature vintage brass heart/shield pull, sitting above a spacious open lower compartment ideal for books, decor, or bedside storage.

Reflecting Mengel's high-standard "Permanized" construction methods, the single drawer is built using heavy-duty English dovetail joinery and glides smoothly on a solid wooden center track. The cabinet sits atop a streamlined curved plinth base and is finished in Mengel's popular post-war light blond/limed oak tone over real wood veneers.

The nightstand is structurally sound and sturdy. The light wood finish displays an authentic vintage patina, showing light age-appropriate surface wear, minor scuffs along the interior cubby and base, and natural tarnish on the original metal pull—offering great original character as-is or serving as an easy restoration candidate to pair with the set.
