Description

This is the real deal, folks -- an antique cast iron farm bell manufactured by C.S. Bell & Co. of Hillsboro, Ohio, one of the most respected bell foundries in American history, clearly marked with their signature yoke casting. The bell is a Size No. 2, mounted on its original weathered wood post with the cast iron Crystal Metal bracket plate still firmly bolted in place via three heavy iron bolts -- a setup that has outlasted generations. The bell retains its original iron clapper, the yoke swings freely, and a pull rope is still attached and ready for action; the surface shows beautiful honest patina with lichen growth and age-appropriate oxidation that no faker could reproduce. C.S. Bell & Co. bells from this era (late 1800s to early 1900s) are highly collectible and this example presents as a complete, functional, mounted unit -- not just a bell pulled off a post and thrown in a barn sale pile.

4. ABANDONED ITEMS: Items not picked up without prior Auctioneer approval may be considered abandoned and resold, donated, or disposed of without refund.

5. WE ARE NOT MOVERS: Bring adequate help, tools, packing materials, and transportation. Loading assistance may be available for an additional fee.

6. BUYER’S PREMIUM & TAX: A 12% Buyer’s Premium and applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases.

7. SHIPPING & DELIVERY: Available on select items for an additional fee. See auction details.

8. EXTENDED BIDDING: Bids placed near closing automatically extend the lot by 3 minutes until bidding stops.
