This 1903 “Onward” framed lithograph by W.L. Haskell of Chicago is a historically significant and visually compelling piece, celebrating the legacy of three towering figures in American history Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglass, and Abraham Lincoln. The black-and-white composition features dignified portraits of these influential leaders, symbolizing progress, perseverance, and the fight for equality. Additional imagery, including scenes from Tuskegee Institute and Lincoln’s log cabin, further emphasizes themes of education, emancipation, and advancement. Encased in an elaborate, ornately carved wooden frame, this rare print retains its period charm, making it an exceptional acquisition for collectors of African American history, Civil War-era memorabilia, or early 20th-century lithographs. A powerful statement piece, this framed poster embodies the spirit of resilience and the pursuit of justice, making it a standout addition to any historical or academic collection.
