Description

This is a gorgeous Wedgwood Jasperware collector plate in the highly sought-after lilac colorway, a shade far rarer than the classic blue and guaranteed to stop a display cabinet in its tracks. The crisp white sprig-applied relief decoration wraps the wide border with a procession of neoclassical figures, draped maidens, altar urns, cherubs, and lush foliate branches rendered in exquisite detail that only Wedgwood could pull off. The reverse bears the impressed Wedgwood Made in England mark along with what appears to be a letter code and additional factory marks, consistent with mid-to-late 20th century production, and there is a partially legible paper or foil label remnant in gold. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or restoration visible, and the matte bisque surface retains its velvety, museum-quality finish throughout.
