This attractive three-piece grouping showcases some of Fenton Art Glass Company's most recognizable decorative glass designs, spanning several of the company's most popular colors and forms. Founded in 1905 in Williamstown, West Virginia, Fenton became America's largest producer of handmade colored art glass, with its hobnail patterns becoming especially sought after beginning in the late 1930s. This collection offers an appealing mix of elegant display pieces that complement both traditional and mid-century décor.
The collection includes a Ruby Red Art Glass Basket measuring approximately 6 inches in diameter by 6½ inches tall, featuring a gracefully applied arched handle, ruffled rim, and embossed leaf motif. Also included is a French Opalescent Hobnail Vase measuring approximately 3 inches in diameter by 5½ inches tall. Produced primarily during the 1940s through the 1960s, Fenton's French Opalescent glass is prized for its soft translucent body accented by a distinctive milky-white opalescent finish and the company's signature hobnail pattern. Completing the grouping is a Blue Opalescent Hobnail Two-Handled Bon-Bon Dish measuring approximately 7 inches wide by 2¾ inches tall, featuring scalloped edges, applied handles, and the vibrant blue opalescent coloration that has become one of Fenton's most collectible finishes.
Fenton's hobnail line remains among the company's most enduring and recognizable designs, appreciated for the craftsmanship required to produce its raised pattern and beautifully finished ruffled rims. Pieces in ruby red, French opalescent, and blue opalescent continue to enjoy strong collector interest and display beautifully individually or as coordinated decorative accents. Their timeless styling makes them equally suitable for collectors of American art glass or those looking to add colorful vintage character to a home décor collection.
Whether displayed together as a coordinated grouping or incorporated into an existing Fenton collection, this three-piece assortment represents several classic examples of American art glass craftsmanship. The combination of vibrant ruby red, luminous French opalescent, and rich blue opalescent glass creates an eye-catching display that reflects the artistry and enduring popularity of vintage Fenton glassware.
