Description

This is the Magnavox AS640M 3701 Compact Disc Hi-Fi Stereo System manufactured in November 1994 in Malaysia, and it is the full package that mid-90s music lovers dreamed about. The stacked component system includes a Digital Synthesized Tuner with AM/FM presets and a teal fluorescent display, a High Power Stereo Amplifier with DBB boost and a four-band graphic equalizer covering 300 Hz through 10 kHz, and input selection for Tuner, CD, Tape, and Phono/AUX. A dual cassette deck section features Deck A as a full record and play deck with high-speed dubbing capability and a Ferro/Chrome tape selector, while Deck B serves as a dedicated playback deck, and a Maxell tape is even loaded and ready for nostalgia. The bottom of the stack is crowned by a Magnavox Multi Disc Changer with Bitstream Conversion technology, featuring a rotating carousel tray that holds five CDs, with controls for Introscan, Repeat, Shuffle, Clear, Review, Program, Disc Select, Track Skip, and Open/Close. The pair of included Magnavox bookshelf speakers are Type AK245/30M, rated at 6 Ohm, 50 Watt music power and 30 Watt nominal, assembled in Malaysia, and each features a three-driver configuration visible beneath the fabric grille. The amplifier rear panel shows clean speaker terminal connections with both speaker cables still attached and RCA auxiliary outputs present.
