Description

This white porcelain vase by Andrea by Sadek is dressed to impress in lavish gold acanthus scroll lacework from neck to foot, with a classic baluster silhouette and a crisp gilded rim. The decoration has the kind of dense, hand-applied feel that makes it look far more expensive than a thrift store ever had any right to sell it. Made in China, the barcode sticker and original Andrea by Sadek label are intact on the unglazed flat foot. Condition is excellent with strong, unfaded gold throughout.

The second piece is a hexagonal covered ginger jar by Andrea by Sadek, Made in Japan, bearing model number 8442 on the unglazed base. It wears a warm crackle-glaze ground dressed in the classic Imari palette of iron red, cobalt blue, and sage green, with lush peony and floral basket motifs wrapping every facet. The domed lid sits perfectly, topped with a bold red-glazed knop, and the entire piece rests on a striking burnt-orange hexagonal foot rim trimmed in gold. Both the jar and its lid show the intentional crackle glaze throughout, a deliberate stylistic choice rather than damage, and overall condition is very good.
