Description
This cast iron toy automobile is modeled after the Ford Model T coupe, featuring an enclosed cab, rounded fenders, molded hood louvers, and cast spoked wheels. The body displays simple yet defined detailing, including window openings, a molded door with handle detail, and period-appropriate proportions typical of early automotive toys. The overall form reflects the popular Model T design produced during the height of its commercial success.
The toy is constructed in two cast iron halves joined with visible seams and screw fasteners, a common manufacturing method used by A.C. Williams of Ravenna, Ohio. The wheels are solid cast with integrated hubs, mounted on fixed axles. The weight and construction are consistent with early American cast iron toy production of the 1910s–1920s.
The surface retains a darkened finish with areas of oxidation and natural patina consistent with age. Casting lines, minor surface irregularities, and wear to high points are present, typical of cast iron toys that were handled and displayed. No repainting is observed.
Condition shows age-related wear and surface oxidation. Wheels are intact and appear stable. No maker’s mark observed. Measures approximately 6 1/4 inches long and 3 5/8 inches tall.
