Description
Lightweight, lively, and unmistakably Colt — this Colt Cobra in .38 Special is the kind of revolver that made plainclothes detectives and off-duty officers very happy.
The barrel is clearly marked “COBRA .38 SPECIAL CTG.” with “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” confirming its Hartford heritage. This is the classic short-barrel configuration, giving it that purposeful snub-nose profile collectors love.
Finished in deep Colt bluing, the revolver shows a rich, dark tone with honest handling wear visible in close-up photos. The cylinder retains strong finish, and the frame lines remain crisp. It wears factory-style checkered brown grips with silver Colt medallions — a timeless pairing against the dark steel.
The ejector rod, hammer spur, and trigger all appear correct for the model, and the compact frame gives it the trim, carry-friendly feel that made the Cobra such a success in Colt’s lineup. Lightweight compared to earlier steel-framed revolvers, the Cobra was Colt’s answer to practical, everyday defensive carry — but today it’s equally at home in a curated collection.
A classic Colt snub with character, history, and undeniable presence.
