Description

This stunning framed seascape titled 'The Ebbing' is a signed original work by Peter Ellenshaw, the celebrated British-American artist and Academy Award-winning matte painter best known for his iconic work with Walt Disney Studios. The painting captures a moody, atmospheric coastal scene with crashing waves, sea-stacked rocks, and a dramatic shoreline rendered in Ellenshaw's characteristically soft yet powerful palette of grays, blues, and muted earth tones. The signature 'Peter Ellenshaw' appears in the lower left corner of the canvas, and a hand-lettered label on the reverse reads 'The Ebbing by Peter Ellenshaw,' accompanied by a framer's label from Norman's Custom Framing on Shelbyville Road in Louisville, Kentucky. The piece is presented in a distressed silver-black ornate wooden frame that suits the brooding coastal subject matter perfectly, and while the backing shows age-appropriate wear, the painting itself presents beautifully.
