This amber glass fairy lamp features the popular “Stars and Bars” pressed glass pattern associated with L.E. Smith Glass Company production during the mid-20th century. The two-piece design includes a scalloped candle base and fitted dome shade decorated with geometric starbursts, diamond motifs, and vertical ribbed panels characteristic of the pattern. The rich amber coloration gives the piece a warm glow and classic Early American Prescut-inspired appearance.
Designed for use with a small votive or tea light candle, the lamp functions by diffusing candlelight through the heavily molded glass while the vent opening at the top allows heat to escape. Fairy lamps such as this became especially popular during the 1960s and 1970s as decorative accent lighting and remain sought after for their nostalgic mid-century styling and practical display appeal.
The pressed glass construction displays crisp molded detail throughout, including a repeating star pattern on the dome, scalloped lower rim, and pedestal-style base. The fitted lid rests securely on the lower section and creates the traditional enclosed candle lamp silhouette originally inspired by Victorian-era fairy lights. The amber finish enhances the depth of the molded geometric patterning when illuminated.
Measures approximately 6.5 inches tall and approximately 4.5 inches in diameter. A decorative and functional example of mid-century American pressed glass suitable for collection, display, or seasonal décor use.
