Each of the 9 sets in this remarkable lot is housed in a handsome black leatherette folio stamped in gold with 'The Official Bicentennial Day Commemorative,' and contains two show-stopping pieces: a sterling silver proof medal depicting the signing of the Bicentennial Declaration on July 4, 1976 on its face and the original 1776 Declaration signing on the reverse, along with a multi-page Official Bicentennial Declaration of the People of the United States of America. 

The Declaration booklet is nothing short of a who's-who of American power, bearing the facsimile signatures of President Gerald R. Ford, Vice President Nelson A. Rockefeller, the full Cabinet including Henry Kissinger and Donald Rumsfeld, Philadelphia Mayor Frank L. Rizzo, Pennsylvania Governor Milton Shapp, and more than 600 additional national leaders. Each folio also includes the original Franklin Mint collector letter signed by Vice President of Collector Relations William F. Krieg, explaining the historic significance of the issue and its selection by the Official Bicentennial Day Commission. 

This lot includes approximately 9 complete sets, many nearly untouched or still in their original tissue wrapping and cardboard shipping boxes, making this an extraordinary find for American history collectors, estate dealers, or anyone who appreciates patriotism packaged with serious panache.

5. WE ARE NOT MOVERS: Bring adequate help, tools, packing materials, and transportation. Loading assistance may be available for an additional fee.

6. BUYER’S PREMIUM & TAX: A 12% Buyer’s Premium and applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases.

8. EXTENDED BIDDING: Bids placed near closing automatically extend the lot by 3 minutes until bidding stops.
