Collection of 12 XCalibur Hi-Tek Tackle XR Series lipless rattle baits in three sizes and multiple color patterns. The grouping consists of four XR50, six XR75, and two XR100 lures, matching the handwritten inventory shown with the collection. These sinking lipless crankbaits were designed with internal rattles, prominent red eyes, molded scale and gill detailing, line ties along the back, and two treble hooks. XCalibur marketed the XR series specifically as its “Rattle Bait” line.
The collection includes several recognizable XCalibur finishes, including metallic blue/silver shad patterns, chrome/silver, chartreuse, barred shad patterns, and two brown/orange crawfish-pattern XR100 lures. XCalibur's documented XR color lineup included Pearl Melon, Ghost, Chrome Black, Gold Black, Oxbow, Lemon Lime, Rayburn Red, Chrome Blue/Orange, Royal Shad, Royal Red, Foxy Shad, Foxy Momma, Tilapia, Blue Shiner, Citrus Shad, Foxy Lady and Crawdad, among others. The brown/orange XR100 pair is consistent with one of XCalibur's crawfish-style finishes, while several of the blue/silver examples correspond to the company's shad and metallic baitfish families. I would avoid assigning every lure an exact factory color name without its original packaging because several XCalibur finishes are quite similar.
The XR series was established by at least 2006, when XCalibur's catalog documented the XR50 and its extensive factory color selection; the lures were well established in tournament bass fishing by the late 2000s and early 2010s. The XCalibur brand was subsequently discontinued, with the XR designs later carried forward under PRADCO's Booyah line. Based on the branding and models represented here, I would catalog this group broadly as circa mid-2000s to mid-2010s production rather than give the individual lures a narrower date without their packaging.
This 12-piece grouping provides a good cross-section of XCalibur's discontinued XR family, ranging from the smaller XR50 through the larger XR100. The XR50 was cataloged at approximately 2½ inches and 5/8 ounce, while the XR100 is the substantially larger 3½-inch, 1-ounce version. The assortment of sizes and factory-style finishes makes the lot representative of XCalibur's popular lipless crankbait line from the 2000s and early 2010s.
