1950 Chevrolet Styleline Special
SUMMARY
The 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Special was an entry-level model in Chevrolet's lineup, positioned below the more upscale Styleline Deluxe. It was part of the Chevrolet Advance Design era (1949-1952) and featured classic post-war styling with smooth lines, a rounded profile, and a distinctive front grille.
As for the Styleline subject to this appraisal, it has been modified from its original production.
Most notably a V8 engine swap, a floor mounted shift selector, repaint, wheels, additional gauges and an aftermarket stereo.
Off the factory line in Norwood, Ohio, the Styleline would be equipped with an inline 6 cylinder where power would be sent by a three speed manual transmission whose shift selector would be located on the column. The exterior would be finished in Rodeo Beige Metallic.
Presently, the exterior is finished in Teal Blue where the paint match and flow matches on the panels and shows evidence of minor paint imperfections from the repaint. A 4 speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels only via an upgraded V8 engine.
The interior stations a non original three spoke steering wheel. The steering column, dashboard gauges and trim pieces all appear to be in good condition overall. The dashboard is in good condition. The period correct but reupholstered front and rear seats are in good condition with no evidence of enuy wear or sun fade.
Owner states vehicle has been owned nearly 23 years based on 9/02 title issue. Vehicle starts, runs and drives and requires no mechanical repair to make operable although a battery boost, fluid top off and brake work will be required.
Undercarriage frame rails are steel constructed. Undercarriage shows some surface rusting in areas.
Four matching P245/50R16 Hercules G3000V tires are mounted to four 1991-92 Camaro 5
Spoke wheels. Tire date codes reveal the 13" week of 2003. Tread appears to be even and tread depth is good, yet deterioration from within the tires from sitting is likely and should be driven cautiously at higher speeds.
All glass is present transmitting light with some evidence of light diffusion due to discoloration or delamination.
The Cowl Tag is present and is assumed to be correct to this car. No Carfax is available due to age. The classic car market fluctuates based on collector demand, economic factors, and generational interest. Total consideration given to vehicle class, mileage, equipment, damage amount, historic depreciation factors, demographics, rarity, year model, previous owners, previous damage, modifications, CarFax indicators (if reported) and market day supply. Thiş vehicle is unique to itself deeming it a "one-off."
