Description

This finely detailed hand-carved shorebird features stunning reddish-brown and gray plumage with intricate feather texturing throughout the body. The bird stands upright on delicate wire legs anchored to a dramatic dark, porous natural wood burl base. Signed on the underside of the base reading T. WHITE 13/35, indicating this is number 13 from a limited edition of 35 pieces. A beautifully executed decorative carving that belongs in any serious folk art or bird carving collection.

This second hand-carved shorebird by T. White depicts the bird in a classic feeding pose, head lowered and beak pointed downward with exceptional realism. Finished in soft gray tones with carefully painted feather detailing and mounted on wire legs atop a weathered driftwood log base. The driftwood base is clearly signed and dated T. WHITE 11/89, placing this piece firmly in November of 1989. The lifelike posture and quality craftsmanship make this a standout piece whether displayed alone or paired with its companion carving.
