This four-piece aluminum coffee maker is identified as Wear-Ever model 5072, produced by the Wear-Ever Aluminum Company (originally the Aluminum Cooking Utensil Company) in the United States. The stamped base reads “Wear-Ever Aluminum Co. Trademark Made in U.S.A.” along with model number 5072, consistent with mid-20th-century production. This style featuring black Bakelite handles is generally attributed to the 1940s through early 1950s.
The set functions as an immersion or drip-type coffee maker rather than a traditional percolator. Coffee grounds are placed in the internal basket assembly positioned between the upper and lower sections. Boiling water is poured into the top reservoir, allowing the brewed coffee to steep and drip into the lower pot. The four components include the bottom pot, upper reservoir, lid, and internal basket assembly.
This example measures approximately 13 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches in diameter at the base, corresponding to larger-capacity models intended for household or camp-style use. Constructed of aluminum with molded black Bakelite handles and knob, it reflects practical mid-century kitchenware design focused on durability and heat efficiency.
