This early 20th-century cast-iron horse-and-jockey doorstop features classic sand-cast construction and traces of its original hand-applied paint. Likely made between 1910 and 1930 by a period foundry such as Hubley, Albany Foundry, or National Foundry, the piece shows all expected characteristics of genuine early production: two-part casting cavities, appropriate weight, worn but original coloration, and early equestrian sculpting typical of the era. The figure stands approximately 10 inches tall and 9 inches wide, with a green painted base and strong three-dimensional form.
The doorstop depicts a jockey on horseback with detailed reins and saddle, making it especially appealing to collectors of antique iron, Americana, and equestrian décor. The underside shows authentic oxidation and cavity impressions consistent with 100-year-old cast iron. This is a charming and substantial decorative piece with an untouched patina, perfect for display or for those who appreciate original early-20th-century craftsmanship.
