Description

First up is the showstopper: a large antique cast iron tractor seat mounted on a tall flat iron post with a bolt-plate base, the whole assembly standing proud like a rustic sculpture. The seat features the classic kidney or pan shape with radiating oval slots and a decorative concentric circle motif at the center, all draped in a beautiful heavy patina of age-old rust. The flat iron post narrows at the base into a drilled mounting plate, suggesting this was once bolted to a planter, cultivator, or implement frame. Surface rust throughout adds authentic character, and no cracks are visible in the casting. The second piece is a smaller standalone cast iron tractor or implement seat with a flat-bottom half-moon profile and a tight radial slot pattern surrounding a square central boss with a single mounting hole. Heavily patinated with surface rust and traces of old paint or mineral deposits giving it a mottled, weathered appearance. This style is often associated with late 1800s to early 1900s horse-drawn farm equipment. Solid and heavy with no visible cracks, it is a prime candidate for display, garden art, or a barstool conversion project.
