This stately highboy chest of drawers hails from the Franklin Shockey Company of Lexington, North Carolina, bearing their signature Hand Burnished Custom Finish brand stamps burned directly into the drawer bottoms alongside original paper labels. The two-section design features a upper case with two small top drawers and two full-width drawers with original brass disc pulls, while the lower section showcases four graduated drawers with carved horizontal relief pulls in classic MCM fashion. Construction is solid and substantial, with secondary wood drawer boxes showing honest age-appropriate wear including minor scratches and a few small nicks to the finish, while the exterior surfaces retain a warm honey-toned glow with rounded edges and elegant splayed bracket feet.
