Description
These are the chairs that make a statement before anyone even sits down. Manufactured by Schnadig Corporation of Belmont, Mississippi, this matched pair of low-profile Ming-style armchairs features a high-gloss black lacquer finish over solid wood frames with sweeping cloud-carved crestings, Greek-key scroll details, and gorgeous warm burl wood back splat panels that contrast beautifully against the ebonized lacquer. The chunky cabriole legs with outward-curling feet are classically Chinese in proportion, giving these chairs a grounded, imperial presence. Seat cushions are upholstered in a cream and grey distressed-velvet jacquard fabric bearing a central longevity medallion motif in the Asian tradition, with fabric content listed as 56 percent La Rayonne and 44 percent Polyester per the surviving manufacturer label; the upholstery shows age-appropriate wear and would reward a fresh reupholstery to truly bring these beauties back to their full glory.
Condition
Please note all items are "as-is where-is"
