These are a genuine pair of vintage all-metal clamp-on roller skates manufactured by the Union Hardware Company of Torrington, Connecticut, USA, clearly marked "No. 5" on the toe plate of each skate. Designed to strap directly onto the soles of street shoes, these adjustable skates feature the classic four-wheel quad layout with cast metal wheels, a sturdy stamped steel platform with side toe clamps, and the original aged brown leather ankle straps with metal buckles still intact. The length-adjustment mechanism runs along the center spine of the skate and remains functional, a testament to Union Hardware's legendary build quality that made them a staple of American childhood from the 1930s through the 1950s.
