Description

This plump, round cookie jar from Louisville Stoneware is a devotional showpiece dressed in cream-colored stoneware with a classic blue-rimmed lid and a perky blue knob handle on top. The entire surface wraps you in the full text of Psalm 100, hand-painted in flowing navy script alongside cheerful folk-art flowers, butterflies, and doves in soft blue, peach, and gold. Four passages circle the jar: 'The Lord is good; his love is eternal and his faithfulness lasts forever,' 'Sing to the Lord, all the world! Worship the Lord with joy; come before him with happy songs!', 'Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him; we are his people, we are his flock,' and 'Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving; go into its courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise him.' The bottom bears the stamped Louisville Stoneware maker's mark reading 'Made in Kentucky' with the iconic potter's hands logo, and the piece is marked microwave safe -- a blessing both spiritual and practical.
